About The Project
Sound of Life (SOL) is an esteemed content marketing platform powered by KEF, a renowned British high-end loudspeaker manufacturer. SOL caters to inquisitive creatives seeking recommendations on what to watch, read, and listen to.
Despite its prestigious reputation, SOL faced several challenges in its content management and workflow processes.
SOL initially utilised Shopify and Shogun to create and manage content, but these platforms presented limitations that hindered its content creativity and growth potential.
The company approached Flow Digital with the goal of overhauling its content management workflow and establishing a more flexible Content Marketing Platform for both contributors and content managers.

The large scale of the project meant a tight deadline to meet. This was coupled with the challenge of communicating with SOL’s international team locating in different time zones
Our Approach
1. Understanding Requirements
Flow Digital development team set up a meeting to collaborate with SOL’s project managers to fully understand their goals and requirements for the project. After discussion, we proposed a 3-part management system:
- Content Management Module
- Contributor Management Module
- Task Management Module
2. Content Management
The dedicated content module empowers content creators to craft engaging article pages with ease, eliminating the previous constraints imposed by Shopify and Shogun. This would also reduce the strain for content managers to edit articles as required.
3. Contributor Management
By providing writers with a seamless platform to submit articles and engage in direct communication with the internal team, the module enhances collaboration and eliminates the inefficiencies of the previous email-based communication and workflow.
4. Task Management
This integrated tool empowers SOL editors and managers to efficiently oversee and organise day-to-day tasks, streamlining workflow and removing the need to depend on the previous external task management tool.
5. Frontend Website Development
We’ve constructed a website based on the client’s design mockup. The website not only follows essential guidelines like being responsive and functional across different devices and browsers, but we’ve also taken steps to enhance page loading performance by refining the code. Throughout this process, we’ve remained dedicated to upholding web accessibility standards, making the website usable and enjoyable for everyone.
